OurPact Review 2024: Summary

OurPact

If children have strong feelings about parental control software, the app is perhaps just what their parents need.

That’s roughly the premise behind OurPact, a parental-control program for children’s smartphone use.

If you look at the reviews of OurPact, you’ll see that many children are upset that their parents have downloaded the app on a smartphone.

This OurPact review will discuss the service’s features, capabilities, benefits, and drawbacks.

We are unable to recommend OurPact due to ethical concerns regarding their business practices.

Many customers have reported seeing this app on the supposedly infected device.

Based on the feedback, it appears that neither refunds nor customer support are provided.

As a comparable option, we propose uMobix.

Do they even have a valid reason to be so upset?

And do parents have the resources they need to ensure their children’s safety?

In this thorough OurPact Review, we reveal the facts.

OurPact Review 2024: In-depth

The initial configuration of OurPact is somewhat involved.

You can’t use the same copy of the OurPact app on both the parent’s and the child’s devices; instead, you need to download two copies.

The mobile version is available in the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android, while the desktop version may be downloaded directly from the OurPact website.

OurPact is the only parental control tool we’ve reviewed that requires a Windows or macOS computer for installation and configuration.

To get your kid set up with OurPact, download the PC app (OurPact Connect) and connect their mobile device to their computer (through USB).

Disabling “Find My iPhone” and activating “USB Debugging” in Android’s Developer Options are two of the changes needed to complete the setup process.

OurPact’s setup process is more complicated than competing parental control apps. After the initial setup, the app’s usability is rather intuitive.

If you’re interested in finding out if this monitoring system may be right for you, this OurPact review should help.

How Does OurPact Work?

OurPact

OurPact users can be divided into two groups:

Parent User

Based on their plan, these individuals can visit the OurPact dashboard and exert full parental control over the child’s device.

The Parental User can be an Apple iPhone user or an Android user.

Child User

Users are the app’s bread and butter; without them, the app wouldn’t exist. The device’s settings will be restricted for these users.

OurPact Jr. has an enrollment form specifically for kids. The OurPact Jr. app syncs with the parent’s account on the parent’s mobile.

Kids can view their daily screen time schedules on OurPact Jr. and pause and play their daily Screen Time Allowance.

Here’s How To Set Up And Use OurPact

Step 1: You first need to go to either the App Store or the Google Play Store and download the app. The app is compatible with any Android smartphone running Android 4.4 or later. Apple’s iOS 9.3 or later must be installed on your iPhone, iPad, or iPad touch to be compatible.

Step 2: Next, create an account for no cost at all.

Step 3: Have your kid access the web and navigate to pair.ourpact.com.

Step 4:  log in with the parent account’s email and password.

Step 5:  Type your kid’s name in and hit the “Pair” button.

Step 6: Click the Install button.

Step 7:  if necessary, input your kid’s password.

OurPact Features

Schedule Screen Time

Which parent doesn’t fret over their kid’s excessive screen time? OurPact facilitates the planning of digital downtime.

You’ll have complete control over when your kid has access to their phone’s entertainment features like video playing, social networking sites, and game playing.

Our family has established a device-free bedtime ritual for our youngsters. Every night before bed, the apps would stop working.

Phone calls could still be made, but that was about it.

To help them fall asleep, does your child enjoy listening to music? It’s no sweat. You can keep some apps on your kid’s device even after the allotted screen time has passed.

We think this is a great solution for kids who can’t get enough reading time and must have access to their Kindle app at all times.

App Organizer

Through the use of OurPact, guardians may ensure that their child’s mobile apps are safely stored in the appropriate folders.

If you disable App Organizer, your kid will be unable to uninstall anything from their phone.

In a nutshell: App Organizer can be accessed by opening OurPact Jr. on a child’s smartphone.

Switch on the function and arrange the programs in any order you like. Folders can be designed to make the homepage look more organized.

App Rules

OurPact

According to the company, this appears to be the set’s most valuable component.

Rules set up within an app give parents the ability to regulate their children’s app use in three distinct ways: permanently blocking access, temporarily blocking access, and blocking access on specific days and times.

Quick setup: Select the tab labeled “App Rules” under the OurPact parent app. You may now get a list of all your apps on your device.

To limit your child’s access to inappropriate content, you can do so by assigning each app to a specific category.

Family Locator

OurPact’s Family Locator is a frequently asked-for function since it shows parents where their children currently are.

By setting up geofences, you can be notified the moment your child enters the house after school.

Simply activate location services by making sure they are activated. Be a regular fixture in your child’s phone settings.

In order to track a phone’s location, an internet connection is required. Then select the map icon on your web panel. Turn on the home finder.

Screen Time Allowance

OurPact

Parents can assist their children in focusing and getting more done if they set limits on their screen use. With this function, you can restrict your kid’s daily screen time.

Choose the Allowance tab on the kid’s profile on your control panel online. You may confirm your daily screen time limits here after you’ve established them.

Make First-Time Setup Easier

Using the basic functionality of this program is a breeze with the free edition. Simply install the OurPact app on your phone and the OurPact Jr. app on theirs to get started.

The process couldn’t be simpler than that!

However, if you’re similar to us and you choose to pay for the app’s premium features, you’ll have to go through a few extra steps before you can make any changes to your settings.

These include connecting your phone to your laptop in iTunes, creating a backup, and then reinstalling the backup after making changes.

I mean, it’s not rocket science to set up, but it does take some time.

Filtering

In spite of the popularity of OurPact, web filtering has been neglected. Parents can block adult content with the flip of a switch.

There is only one toggleable option. It is hard to admit that OurPact’s filtering for its single blockable category did function, unlike some of the other providers.

It alerts the child that access to the site has been disabled because of its potentially adult nature.

Only blocking or allowing individual domains or subdomains is possible inside this section of the service.

The features that are present do their jobs, but the fact is that this is, and has been for years, extremely rudimentary.

uMobix is a great option if you want to restrict access to certain websites for your children.

Time Management

The OurPact app also needs to improve in this respect. Schedule and Allowance are two parts of OurPact’s time management features.

They’re on separate pages, which isn’t an issue but might be avoided.

Timeouts can be set in the schedule to prevent your child from using their phone at all during those times.

You can modify the pre-set “Bedtime” schedule, which includes a routine for Sunday through Thursday, or add other schedules by pressing the “+” button in the top-right corner.

These timetables can be individually toggled on and off without being deleted. This is quite helpful if your schedule fluctuates throughout the year, such as during the summer.

All you have to do is set up the schedules once and then switch them on and off as needed.

The other part of effective time management is a budget. This is the cumulative time that a youngster can spend using a gadget on a particular school day.

Options increase by 30 minutes every hour from 0 to 3 hours, then by 1 hour every hour from 3 to 8 hours, and finally by one day at a time.

Manual Block and Grant (Free Version)

You can control your child’s iPhone’s internet and app usage from everywhere, at any time, with this function.

With the tap of a button, you can restrict access to social media sites like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and others, while still allowing your kids to use educational and developmentally appropriate platforms.

All apps can be blocked or allowed in the free version, but only specific ones can be blocked or allowed in the paid version.

Block Texting

SMS texting can be restricted using time limits, quotas, and manual bans. Furthermore, parents can restrict access to iMessage on iOS devices with OurPact.

Parents may control their children’s use of iMessage and other messaging apps on their iPhone, iPad, and iTouch with the help of OurPact’s App Rules feature.

In addition, parents can limit their children’s use of messaging services like WhatsApp, Msn Messenger, Skype, and more with OurPact’s App Rules text filter.

Web Filter

OurPact

OurPact’s Web Filter protects your kid’s Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and other browsers.

If you have a child using Safari, Chrome, or any other search engine on your phone and want to keep them away from inappropriate sites, you have to “switch On” the Web Filter from the parent dashboard.

Pricing

OurPact Pricing

OurPact is unique among parental-control tools since it divides its features into three categories for easy comparison.

Users can manage one kid device, one or more non-automatic blocks each month (up to a maximum of five), or an entirely automated chain schedule.

Check out how this free program stacks up against the other free parental control apps.

You may upgrade to OurPact for only $1.99 per month, which covers up to ten kid-friendly devices and limitless non-automated and automated chain plans, respectively.

Lastly, the $6.99 monthly OurPact fee includes all of the advantages the assistance offers for up to 20 child devices, including unlimited non-automatic blocks, endless automated chain plans, and the rest of the features that will be mentioned later in the post.

The Premium range is the only real option unless you only want to limit how long your youngster can play their device.

There is virtually any savings to be had by prepaying for a full year; the full $23.88 or $83.88 is still due.

Review Verdict

This OurPact review covers not only the software’s features and functionality but also the basics of getting started with it.

The OurPact software allows for covert phone monitoring.

There is alternative cell phone spy software available, as this one stands out for its high price and inadequate customer service.

uMobix is one of the best apps you can rely upon when it comes to spying or monitoring.

It is not simple to install, but once you do, you will have exposure to a remote dashboard from which to keep tabs on your target. In the end, OurPact cannot be tolerated.

Though the OurPact app did not perform well in this analysis, there are many other apps available that are just as deserving of your time and attention.

You should choose uMobix because it is the best option for this scenario.
