LeadConnect Review 2024

If you’re a professional looking to connect with more companies for career opportunities, what social media platform do you use?

If you’re a business looking to enhance your B2B leads, what platform do you use?

If you’re a company looking to recruit top employee candidates, what platform do you use?

The answer is a resounding LinkedIn.

LinkedIn has blossomed into the top platform for all of these purposes, as well as for networking with other professionals in a given industry or market, and even beyond.

For this reason, people have been quickly looking for ways to amplify their LinkedIn productivity and connections.

While doing this manually can take time, especially to develop fruitful leads for B2B, many companies have sprouted up claiming that they can deliver incredibly competitive closing rate improvements as well as save hours upon hours in reaching out to new leads and connections.

It sure does sound enticing, right?

But is it too good to be true?

Oftentimes in the social media growth industry, there is more than meets the eye when you are considering hiring a third party service to take over for your productivity and growth.

It may be difficult for a user to gauge which services may actually deliver promising results, and which ones can actually hurt their account; for this reason, we’ve decided to do our own research.

Today, we’re going to review LeadConnect, a LinkedIn lead generation service, so that you can decide whether or not it would be a suitable option for your LinkedIn account.

Let’s take a look.

What Is LeadConnect?

Lead Connect Review

LeadConnect defines itself as a LinkedIn outreach automation platform. Sounds like a lot of fancy words for saying that they basically automate LinkedIn engagements. They claim to automate lead generation for LinkedIn, and they also have a chrome extension that allows their services to operate. They have a variety of features, including:

  • Define your audience
  • Set up invite message
  • Set up follow up messages
  • Sync prospect to HubSpot
  • Blacklist
  • Lead scraper from LinkedIn to capture emails

These are the basic features that are outlined per LeadConnect’s website, which is what a user will see when they visit the landing page. While this sounds good enough, what exactly does LeadConnect do, and how?

Lead Connect offers the ability to schedule a demo, but other than that, they are not very clear on how exactly their service works and what type of results you can expect.

If you click on the “features” tab from their sidebar menu, it will show you the same features again with some fun little images that represent business connection, but again, no actual photos or insight into how their service works.

Let’s take a look at what “outreach automation” really means.

Outreach Automation?

Lead Connect Automated

LeadConnect is pretty upfront about the fact that you are going to be automating interactions and engagements, although they try to downplay that by saying that your messages will be “personalized.”

If they were truly personalized, wouldn’t that just be sending a regular message?

It’s impossible for automated messages to be truly personalized, so this is misleading. Their goal is clearly to “put your LinkedIn outreach on autopilot,” as they say exactly this on their features page.

The problem with that is it’s impossible to offer valuable connections and engagements when they are automated, and this is terrible for your reputation. No one likes to receive spam from unknown users, and it only reflects poorly on your business or product.

What’s more, you won’t necessarily be reaching out to people in your target audience, which means you will be contacting people that aren’t even interested in your niche in the first place, wasting time and money.

The Dangers of LinkedIn Automation

LinkedIn, like many other social media giants before it, has really begun cracking down on automation services. Think about it like this— the basis of most business relationships is trust, so a platform that facilitates business connections and relationships should also project a high level of trust and integrity.

When messages and lead generation become automated, it loses a piece of that integrity, showing that people can hack the system and reach out to unwilling or unsuspecting contacts without having first connected with them.

This put LinkedIn’s whole reputation at risk, and it also pollutes the engagements on the platform; if the platform becomes spammy and unpleasantly saturated with undesired sales messages, it is likely to deter professionals from using it.

With this in mind, LinkedIn has started to penalize accounts that use automation; they first send a message to a user that was flagged to tell them that any type of automation is against the terms of use and they must agree not to engage with these types of unauthorized services.

If the account continues to do so, it can be suspended or even deleted. This means you could lose everything for engaging with these services.

LeadConnect knows that automation is against LinkedIn’s terms of use because at the very bottom of their page, they offer a disclaimer.

This disclaimer reads:

“The LeadConnect for LinkedIn browser extension is not endorsed or certified by LinkedIn. All LinkedIn (TM) logos and trademarks displayed on this tool are property of LinkedIn. leadconnect is distributed AS IS.

Your use of leadconnect is at your own risk.”

Hear that?

At your own risk.

LeadConnect knows there is a risk involved, and they don’t care about you having to deal with that risk. If you get in trouble with LinkedIn, you will have no support from them whatsoever.

Review Conclusion

Although LeadConnect has an attractive website design and fairly reasonable prices in comparison with other automation services, they are not going to help you in the way that you need. You can’t grow real connections or leads this way, and it will only hurt your business reputation.

It is also a risk that could totally demolish everything you’ve worked for on LinkedIn. It’s not worth the risk, and they don’t care about your success.
