Toyota is one of the leading manufacturers of automotive in the world. It was also the world’s first automobile manufacturer to produce more than 10 million vehicles per year which it has done since 2012.

For the past years, every time Toyota announces a new product, people have been asking about the integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Now it seems that Toyota has finalized a deal with Google. This year, it announced that the 2021 models of 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia will feature Android Auto. In fact, the 2018 Aygo and the 2019 Yaris will also get Android Auto.

In 2018, Toyota integrated CarPlay compatibility into its cars. CarPlay software overlays itself on top of a car’s factory-loaded infotainment system. CarPlay gives iPhone – wielding motorists a quick and convenient way to access the data stored on their device. It makes driving safer by reducing distractions and considered by many to be more user-friendly than many other infotainment systems.

The idea of Toyota integrating Android Auto in its cars started to brew last fall. One of the reasons why Toyota delayed adding Android Auto compatibility was because of some concerns about the security of the feature. These concerns may already have been cleared and straightened up because of Toyota’s announcement.

Just like CarPlay, Android Auto also makes driving safer and minimizes distractions, at least according to Google and the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety. Android Auto was developed to encourage motorist to keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the steering wheel. If you want the features of your smartphones to be placed directly in your car’s dashboard, Android Auto is the best invention that can do that.

One of the useful features of Android Auto is Google Maps-powered navigation system. It provides step-by-step directions and automatically finds an alternate route if it detects heavy traffic. It also allows motorists on-demand access to millions of songs and podcasts, lets them surf the web, and allow them to stay connected via phone calls and messages. These features also respond to basic voice commands. You can even respond to text messages using speech-to-text technology.

The software also works with a host of third-party apps, such as Waze, Pandora, iHeart Radio, Skype, WhatsApp, and Spotify. Android Auto works with all Android-powered phones that run 5.0 (Lollipop) or higher. All you have to do is download the free Android Auto app and connect your phone to your car using a USB cable.

With Toyota’s integration of Android Auto, people will now have a lot of option when buying their new cars. Smartphone lovers will still be able to enjoy the use of technology in their phones even when they are on the road and even on long trips. They also need not worry about being disconnected with their friends or family as they can still communicate with them with the use of this innovative tech. More than that, safety while driving will not be neglected because of the smart features of Android Auto.
