The Ethereum Foundation said that the recent tinkering around gas prices with Berlin Hardfork has actually fixed a risk to the platform. The issue left a gap that was vulnerable to infiltration, was a relatively well-known secret in the community of Ethereum, and had been known of since late 2019. However, the company says that the issue has now been fixed.
The Ethereum Foundation said that they wanted to share details of the vulnerability that has since been fixed in an attempt to be upfront and honest. They believe that the threat is low enough that being transparent about it is justified.
