Coinbase is hoping to hire hundreds of new recruits for its Indian hub, and as an incentive is offering individuals $1000 in cryptocurrency. The goal is for recruits to make the most of the opportunity to learn more about cryptocurrency, according to Pankaj Gupta, Vice President of engineering in India.

The exchange is hoping to find tech builders, engineers and entrepreneurs. Coinbase is hoping to hire hundreds of engineers, as it plans to open a hub in Hyderabad, despite the fact that cryptocurrency has had a controversial past in the country.

India has even considered banning crypto completely. However, if this occurred, it wouldn’t have too big of an impact on Coinbase’s plans, especially if operations are focused on software development and engineering.
