Coinbase has brought on the former deputy director of SEC, otherwise known as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to head the firm’s legal work with regards to the capital markets.
Christian Sabella joins the platform as associate general counsel of the capital markets division of the company. Coinbase has recently been on a hiring spree, and has brought on new hires from some of the world’s largest corporations, including Goldman Sachs.
Paul Grewal, chief legal officer of Coinbase, announced the decision on Twitter.
I’m delighted to welcome Christian Sabella to @coinbase! Christian was the former Acting Director of the SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets during an impressive decade at the agency. He will be leading our legal work on capital markets.
